Esteemed Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer actor Richard Kind remarked there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
