Ex- Doctor Charged with Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities report that a former doctor stands accused of carrying out assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Charges
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
