Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Prize

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were unveiled on a popular morning radio program.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She came off the bench to score key tying goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is an honour," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
Luke Littler
Age: 18 Sport: Darts
Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Perrin's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more young females to get into cricket."
